A Restaurant Full of Strangers… Until the Magic Began.

There are some shows you remember because of the tricks, and then there are shows you remember because of the people.

Our evening at The Falconer in Redlands was one of those nights.

The room was completely sold out. The drinks were flowing, conversations filled every corner of the restaurant, and before Jonathan even performed a single illusion, you could tell it was going to be something special.

One of my favorite things about close-up magic is watching complete strangers become friends.

Everyone arrived with their own dinner party, their own table, their own conversations, their own plans for the evening. But somewhere between the appetizers, the laughter, and Jonathan making his way from table to table, something changed.

By the time the show started, it didn’t feel like a restaurant full of separate groups anymore.

It was one giant dinner party.

People were introducing themselves, laughing together, reacting to the impossible together, and cheering each other on. That’s the kind of magic you can’t rehearse. It just happens when people decide to be present and enjoy the moment together.

One of my favorite moments of the night was watching my son, Uriah, work up the courage to practice his close-up magic with guests. Everyone was so encouraging, patient, and excited to let him share what he’s been learning. Seeing him experience the joy of amazing people, and being welcomed so warmly, was a little bit of magic for me, too.

We met so many wonderful families throughout the night. Watching kids and grandparents experience the same sense of wonder never gets old. Watching date nights turn into core memories and seeing entire tables erupt in laughter reminds us why we love doing this.

A huge thank you goes to the incredible staff at The Falconer. They somehow managed a packed house while making everyone feel welcome, relaxed, and taken care of. Honestly, they always do.

Great service can make an event memorable, and they absolutely delivered. If you haven’t enjoyed a meal here yet, you should. The food is incredible, the service is top-notch, and we truly worked together that night to create something special. The vibe was beautiful.

To end the night, many of us stayed behind, grabbed another drink, and watched the end of the Knicks game together.

It was one of those unexpected moments that couldn’t have been planned. The magic show was over, but no one was in a hurry to leave.

Those are the nights we love most.
