Magic Has Evolved. Has Your Magician?

Fellow magicians, clients, and magic lovers—this is your friendly PSA (with a top hat twist). You know what I hear after almost every show? It’s not “Wow, you pulled another bunny out of a hat!” No. It’s: “I’ve never seen a show like yours!” or “Finally, something different than just another card trick.”
Now, don’t get me wrong—cards are fantastic (my deck and I are still on speaking terms), but if you show up at every table with the same old shuffle, the audience is mentally folding. What if—just what if—you swap that deck for something that sparks curiosity? Borrow a phone. Read a mind. Make them question reality—heck, make them question your outfit choice!
Magicians, let’s step up our game and evolve. Magic isn’t about showing people what they’ve seen a dozen times. It’s about showing them something they never thought possible. Listen to your audiences: they’re begging you for the impossible, not the predictable. So pick material that screams YOU and not “been there, seen that.” Be the magician that leaves them saying, “I didn’t know magic could do that!”
And dear clients, when you book entertainment, don’t settle for “card tricks by the dozen.” You deserve a magician who’ll connect, surprise, and remind you that we live in a world where impossible still happens. Let’s break the stereotypes—no rabbits, no tired hats—just unforgettable, fun, and impossibly good times. Let’s make magic... well, magic again!
