I hear it all the time: “I can’t.” “I don’t like that.” “I’m not comfortable with it.” Whether it’s about learning a new skill, trying something unfamiliar, or just pushing ourselves, we all come up with reasons. But the truth is, the only real limitation is the one we place on ourselves.
I get it—familiar territory feels safe. But life, like magic, thrives when we embrace discomfort. When I fail, I don’t stop at “That’s why I don’t do this.” I ask, “How can I grow from this?” That’s where growth happens—through failing, learning, and improving. If we want to create joy, connection, or impact, shouldn’t we step outside our comfort zones to do it?
I once heard someone dismiss a challenge with “That’s why I don’t do that.” But what if, instead, we asked, “How can I master it?” What if every “I can’t” became “I wonder what’s possible if I try?”
The best time to grow was yesterday. The second-best is right now. So drop the “can’t” and pick up “how.” That’s where the real magic of life unfolds.
